Help everyone live long
March 8th, 2008 at 07:39 pm by ashok in Generalfrom Emerging Technology Conference has written about human longevity research.Emerging Technology Conference discusses about future technologies . The main event is longevity research. Scott posted anarticle to support the nobel cause.
Longevity doesn’t imply 2 live longer than expected. It is to live like 20 for the next 200 or more years. This would reduce aging the the risks to life due to aging like Cancer, heart attack and cell decay. Its basically slowing down aging
But alas still many people dont support it and want to die. The major reasons for this narrow thought of dying are religious beliefs. Thee main 6 reasons are
1) They are highly religious, and believe that living is standing in the way of reaching their creator. This doesn’t make sense because any creator would have given us life and wants us to live, not to die. Christianity says that Jesus’ death was a sacrifice, something undesirable, not something to be welcomed and revered.
2) They use history (the death of all living things before us) as an excuse for why preventing aging, disease, and death, are ultimately impossible despite the vast number of “first time” accomplishments and breakthroughs that our species has had in the past 100 years alone.
3) They don’t like their lives and would therefore choose not to prolong them. Ultimately this is a solvable problem, given resources and time.
4) They are old and are decrepit, aging has already deteriorated their mind and body, and life isn’t worth living.
5) They are morally opposed to a longer life, citing social problems or population issues. Again, this is a problem that can be addressed – requiring the deaths of billions after some agreed upon period of time in order to make room for a fresh batch should not be a requirement to living.
6) They believe that aging is a given – that it is caused by time, not by cellular processes. In reality, it is known that aging is programmed into our cells as an evolutionary process. But the average life of our great great ancestors was 35 years and ours ins 75. This has been possible because of technology only. So why not let technology make us immortal and resistant to getting old?

Perhaps cheap web hosting is all that it promises. But if it cannot hold a slightly more complex website design , it is a no no. Alternatively, one can go for web design consulting before all this. In that way, we can have a web design solution to resort to. This is also done because not every web design suits every host. But to understand this one does not have to ace web development courses.

PR update or PR penalty
October 25th, 2007 at 09:56 pm by ashok in GoogleI was waiting for pagerank update since last many months for improvment in PR of my blog and my other sites. I was expecting that my blog PR will become equal to some big blogs or atleast the difference between us will reduce. Although I have not get any increment in my PR, but I noticed that many big blogs have lost their PR, and now I am happy that PR of my blog is equal to many high profile blogs. Today I read this article at Dailyblogtips.com blog that many high profile blogs have lost their PR. Previously whose PR was 6 or 7 now their PR are 3 or 4.
Many people believes that this is Google penalty for selling links on their blog. Few months ago Matt Cutts also wrote in his blog that Google is modifying his algorithm to devalute paid links, it appears this PR penalty is in continuation of that.
I think it will affect many bloggers whose major revenue source is their blog, because link cost is directly proportional to PR, another thing which I am expecting is that now the cost of link will increased for high PR sites as there will be less high PR sites and also webmaster will avoid selling links in their sites in fear of google penalty.

Why you should choose linux web hosting
August 24th, 2007 at 03:30 pm by ashok in Web HostingOne of the basic question which many newbie webmaster face is which hosting to choose linux hosting or windows hosting. Some people have misconception that since they work in windows computer, they should go for windows hosting. Since all web hosting packages comes with user friendly control panel, one can manage all aspects of hosting through this control panel. Therefore it hardly matters which operating system you use in your computer and which you choose for your web site hosting.
I myself own around 20 websites and my all websites are on linux server.
Some of the advantages which I found of Linux hosting are:
- Linux hosting is Cheaper than windows. Since linux is open source, it comes free and there is no license fee associated with it. Thats why linux hosting are generally cheaper than windows.
- Linux server has some of the popular features which windows server does not support like mod rewriting, cron job, etc.
- All popular blog and forum scripts runs on linux server if at any point of time you want to add forum or blog in your site you should use linux hosting.
- There are far greater number of open source and free scripts available which run on linux environment.
If you have any point in favour of linux or windows hosting do share.
