Many Blogger try to get links in order to generate traffic, but there are many more methods, some are free and some are paid. I am writing few

  1. The First method is recycle your blog posts into new articles and submit to article directory. There article dirrectories receive thousands and thousands of qualified visitors every day. When you submit your articles to these directories, your name and your blog name are shown to thousands of visitors. On most article directories, you are also permitted to include a “resource box” where you can include your contact details, a simple biography and so on. This is where you can truly leverage the traffic of the said article directories. Some good article directories to get you started:
  2. Second method to get traffic is to join internet forums that is based on your niche. To find these kind of forums, just go to any search engine and enter “ +forum”, without the quotes. You would want the most focused forum with a substantial number of active members, and preferably always bustling with activity. Just check the dates of the threads posted on the forum. You can find my previous article on getting traffic from message board useful.
  3. blog and ping technique is also a useful technique to generate traffict. Basically, when you update your blog, you can let blog portals such as www.technorati.com know by pinging them. You can ping a lot of portals at once by using the free www.pingomatic.com.
  4. Besides the techniques described here, there are also paid methods like buying links from high-ranking pages or buying banner advertisement space. A thing to keep in mind when buying paid traffic is to always weigh your profits generated from the paid ads. If your profits do no offset the expense, you will end up losing money, so choose wisely.

Writing after many days on search engine optimization. SEO is one of the most important tool which every Internet marketer including affiliate marketer use.

Although I have previously written some big posts on SEO, the reason for writing this post is that recently I get email from one of my readers that he want to know SEO in simple terms, hope this article will help him and other newbies about search engine optimiation.

Search Engine Optimization is a way to get search engines to give your web-site a better indexing position so that customers or anyone who is looking for your web-site can see it. The higher you are in the search engines the better chance you’ll have doing business on the internet.

Here are few simple steps to which you can use to optimize your web-site:

Step 1: Modify your web-site - This step includes adding optimized content to all pages in the website.

Step 2: Add tags - Add or make changes to Meta tags, Title tags, H1 tags, H2 tags and alt tags for images, after keywords research.

Step 3: Link building - Getting themed linked from other websites.

So web site optimization is both and online and offline deal. Online, you must use keywords to attract customers and get good search engine rankings and offline, you can advertise your URL to the public to get the to visit your web site.

People often search method to find new ways to get visitors and spend maximum of their energy in bringing vistors to their site, but they miss other important thing to make a successful website i.e. to get returning visitors. Returing vistors form a major part of traffic for many successful websites. Also those sites which sell something, get maximum sale through returning visitors. I am writing a few methods which you can use to keep your visitors coming back to your site. Although there is no need for you to use all methods but using one or two methods will definately help you to making your vistors sticky.

1) Forum

Forum or discussion board is one of the most powerful tool which make a vistor to return back to your site . Forum provids a place to your visitor to voice their opinions and interact with other members of your site. As conversations build up, a sense of community will also follow and your visitors will come back to your site almost religiously every day.

2) Start a Blog

Blog is an onine journal, also called as Web Log. By writing regularly to you blog and updating it with latest news about yourself you can make the visitors sticky to your site. Blog also help in builiding up you credibility as you are proving to them that there is also a real life person behind the website.

3) Polls

Polls is another good form of interaction that you can consider adding to your site. This also provide a way for visitors to voice their opinions and to get involved in your website. Be sure to publish polls relevant to the target audience of your website to keep them interested to find out about the results.

4) Update frequently with fresh content

Regular updating of website not only helpful in good search engine postion it also help in your visitors come back, they will have something to read on your site. This is the most widely known and most effective method of attracting returning visitors.

So are you planning to use any of the above method in your website?

The income from your website is directly proportional to the traffic of your site. Everyone know it. But very few people know how to generate traffic for their site. If no one visits your site, the chance of earning are very less. Although free traffics are good for sites and I have already mentioned many methods in this blog for generating free traffic. But If you want to earn some money from your website there is no harm in spending some money for generating traffic for your site. It takes money to maintain an income generating site; it also takes money to make money.

Ever wonder how does big hit sites drive traffic top their site? Most of them are spending tons of money to drive the traffic to their sites, investing in many advertising campaigns and different forms of marketing schemes and gimmickries. This is all worthwhile because, well, they are what they are now, high earning, big hitting websites.

You don’t have to do this if you don’t really have their resources. There are many ways to generate low cost website traffic without having to spend what you don’t have or can’t afford. Many people have banked on high cost methods and have ended up losing their shirt over it.

Here I writingt to you the Top five ways to generate low cost website traffic that could help your site a whole lot. Even if you only get a small percentage of successful visitors in to client ratio it still works especially if you get a high number of website traffic.

Exchange Links

This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites.

A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic.

Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results. It is common knowledge that search engines ranks high sites that have inbound and outbound theme-related links. With a good ranking position in the search engines, you will generate more traffic in your website without the high costs.

Traffic Exchange

This is like exchanging links but on a different higher level. This may cost a bit more than exchanging or trading links but could be made cheaper because you get to earn credits. You can use those credits when viewing others traffic, while you earn credits when someone views yours.

Traffic exchange services are the viewing of another’s site or page. This is done vice versa where a site can use your sites contents and so can you to his or her site. You both benefit from each others efforts to generate traffic. The other sites visitors can go to your pages and know more about your site as well as theirs. Once again the public awareness of your sites existence is boosted.

Write and Submit Articles

There are many e-zines and online encyclopedias in the internet which provides free space for articles to be submitted. If you want to save costs, you can do the articles yourself. There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do those articles yourself.

Write articles that are themed along with the niche of your site. Write something that you have expertise on so that when they read it, they can feel your knowledge about the subject and will be eager to go to your site. Write articles that produce tips and guidelines to the subject or niche your site has.

Include a resource box at the end of your article that can link them to your site. Write a little about yourself and your site. If you provide a light, information-laden and interesting article, they will go to your site for more.

Make a Newsletter

This may sound like hard work because of all the articles you may need to use to build a newsletter but on the contrary, this is not so. There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name in on your newsletter. This will also provide free advertising for them as well.

As your newsletter gets pass around, you can widen your public awareness and build an opt-in list that can regularly visit your site.

Join Online Communities and Forums

I have already written few articles on generatic traffic from forums. This only requires your time and nothing else. You can share your knowledge and expertise with many online communities as well as your website. You can get free advertising when you go to forums that have the same subject or niche with your site.

Share your two cents and let them see how knowledgeable you are with the subject. As you build your reputation, you also build the reputation of your site, making it a reputable and honest business that could be frequented and trusted by many people.

Recently I read an interesting post in Atul Dogra’s Blog on 5 Steps to Get Top 10 Website Search Engine Rank. He wrote following five points to get traffic for website.

  1. Select right keyword for web SEO Optimization.
  2. Optimize your website ranking factors.
  3. Submit url to search engines directories.
  4. Link Exchange and Manager.
  5. Monitoring and ReOptimizing

No doubt choosing right keyword is very important for optimization. You can bring your site to top of search engine for any obscure keyword or long phrase for which there is no competition. The important thing is bringing site to top for competitive keyword.

If you bring at top your site for a keyword which is typed say around 10,000 times per day in search engine, then you may get good amount of traffic, however if you bring your site top for a keyword or phrase which only you type and which is specific to your site, then it is not something very great.

There are some onsite changes which one has to do in order to bring site to top, like keyword frequency, alt text, link text. But it should always be kept in mind that one should not overuse it. it may invite penalty also.

Regarding submit url to search engine, I don’t think it is of any use now. Whenever I launch a new site, I gave a backlink to it from my other sites and it get indexed in search engines within 2-3 days. However submission in directories may be useful, if the PR of directory is good.

About his fourth point of link exchange, I think search engine do not like it, if you use excessive link exchange you may get a penaly. Many people for this reason use three way exchange. I think search engine can even found this by updating their algorithm. One should always try to get natural link.

As for monitoring and reoptimizing, no doubt it is neccessary if you want good amount of search engine traffic.

But always remember, you can not build a business through search engine traffic only. Search engine can be a contributor but it should not be the only source of traffic and one should not depend on it heavily.
