Using gmail to send emails from different ids
August 11th, 2007 at 12:06 pm by ashok in Web
Gmail Rocks there are no doubt on it. One of the featurs which is very less discussed (at least I did not found it discussed in many places) about gmail is the ability to send email from different email ids. It is very useful for those who runs more than one business from internet or uses more than one email id and yet want to manange it from one place
The process is simple, to use gmail to send email from different id. Click setting on top right corner after logging in your Gmail account. Click on Accounts tab. There will be link Add another email address. After you add the address Gmail Team wants you to confirm that you own that email id, by sending a verification code or confirmaion link. After clicking on the link or entering verification code, You can choose that email id from drop down menu of From field in Gmail.

eWebGuru Directory
June 8th, 2007 at 01:50 pm by ashok in WebI was thinking since last many months to start a directory. I researched for directory scripts, researched on domain name etc. Also study the directory market. Found that there is potential in directory market.
I am regular in digital point forum, maximum time I spend in market place of digital point which is quite active, infact many people there are making loads of money in market place by selling their services, links or sites.
I myself had sold one site few months ago in digital point market place. From their I found that directories are hot product and many people show interest in buying directories, or purchasing links in directories.
Ultimately I zeroed on phpld script. It is a paid script cost $25, I bought that script and installed in ewebguru.net, that domain was lying with me since last couple of months, without any use.
Presently I am selling listing at $5 per year for regular link and $15 per year for featured link. Reciprocal listing are free.
So if you are intersted to add to your site in my directory vist http://www.ewebguru.net/

Turkey blocked YouTube
March 8th, 2007 at 03:17 pm by ashok in WebYouTube the popular video sharing site, which is recently acquired by Google has been banned in Turkey.
The Turkish court has given the order to completely blocked access to YouTube. This is done because of a video that allegedly insults Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, modern Turkey’s founder.
Turk Telecom which is the largest ISP of turkey has blocked the access to youtube, Turkish users who are trying to visit YouTube receiving a message that: “Access to www.youtube.com site has been suspended in accordance with decision no: 2007/384 dated 06.03.2007 of Istanbul First Criminal Peace Court.
This type of problem is not uncommon, we in India has already seen about eight months ago blogspot and some other sites were blocked in India, however that banned was lifted after 3-4 days.
Recently YouTube was also in news in india for an insulting video on Mahatma Gandhi and many people had demanded for the ban of youtube.
Hope this ban will also get lifted soon.

Byindia launching its own PPC
March 7th, 2007 at 04:07 pm by ashok in WebLast year has seen the emergence of indian search engines. There are four Indian search engines which appears to have some potential.
1. Guruji.com
2. Byindia.com
3. Raftaar.com
4. search.t6labs.com
Now Byindia.com which is purchased by web2corp is planning to start its own PPC program. They are planning to start their own PPC program from March 15th 2007, and will display ad on right side and top of the search results.
Definately there is potential of PPC program, but success of it depends on the number of people using their search engines. Let’s wait and watch how it goes.

Earn Money from Youtube.com
January 29th, 2007 at 09:44 am by ashok in WebYoutube.com the popular video sharing site, which is now acquired by Google. Is planning to share revenue with its users. According to Chad Hurley, Youtube.com is planning to pay the users who upload videos on the site.
During his speech at World Economic Forum in Davos Mr. Hurley said that they are getting audience that is large enough to give them an opportunity to support and foster creativity through sharing revenue with their users.
This is really a great news for those who regularly upload videos on youtube. But the important thiing which is to be seen is that, it may result into the inflow of more useless videos on youtube as many people will upload just to earn some extra cash and many people will also try to find the way to earn money by spamming youtube.
