Paid for reading SMS.

Since last few days, I was receiving email or reading in forum or blog about mGinger. Today I go through this article in Ashutosh Blog.

mGinger is introducing a new way to advertising via sms through mobile phones. In which they are paying to read SMS in their mobiles.

The concept is good, they are doing permission based advertising.The consumer not only will get relevant ad, also will earn money in reading sms ads. But I think the success of this advertising media will depend on the ROI i.e return on investment or how much return will advertiser get through this type of advertising.

Since good amount of money will be distributed to consumer, some of the people will try to find the way to fraud the system or try to find the loop hole in system to earn more money. This is the realy challange which mGinger have to face. Because if people just receive the sms in order to earn money I think the return on investment for advertiser will be reduced.

Let’s wait and watch how this mode of adverising goes, I have signed up at their website let us see which type of sms ads I receive and how much part of my mobile bill, I will be able to recover through it.
