Myspace sued Spam King
January 23rd, 2007 at 11:18 am by ashok in SpamFew months ago I had written an article on Myspace marketing . Because of more than 100million profiles and one of the most visited website Myspace is one of the favorite site for Internet marketers.
Spamming in social network site or any sites which become popular is not something new. But these spams are really a nuisance for genuine visitors and website adminstrators.
MySpace has just filed suit against Scott Richter, operator of OptInRealBig.com. In the suit Myspace alleges that Richter sent millions upon millions of “bulletins” to MySpace users between July and December 2006. These bulletins were hawking products like ringtones and polo shirts, and many were sent from accounts without the knowledge of the owner. MySpace claims that Richter got the account information through phishing then used the accounts to disguise the origin of his spam.
