Why you should choose linux web hosting

Some people have misconception that since they work in windows computer, they should go for windows hosting. Since all web hosting packages comes with user friendly control panel, one can manage all aspects of hosting through this control panel. Therefore it hardly matters which operating system you use in your computer and which you choose for your web site hosting.
I myself own around 20 websites and my all websites are on linux server.
Some of the advantages which I found of Linux hosting are:
- Linux hosting is Cheaper than windows. Since linux is open source, it comes free and there is no license fee associated with it. Thats why linux hosting are generally cheaper than windows.
- Linux server has some of the popular features which windows server does not support like mod rewriting, cron job, etc.
- All popular blog and forum scripts runs on linux server if at any point of time you want to add forum or blog in your site you should use linux hosting.
- There are far greater number of open source and free scripts available which run on linux environment.

@Nirmal thanks you liked it. If someone try to find there are many more benefits of linux hosting. I wrote only few.

I am not totally agree with the above statement. Do you mean that you can not host blogs or forums if you hjave a Windows hotsing account??
And I would like to add a point that managing a LInux account is much easier as compared to managing a Windows IIS based account. Even though I have studied IIS in My MCSE, I found managing Linux hosting much easier.
@Ajay all popular blog and forum scripts run on linux server, there may be some blog and forum scripts for windows server, but they are not as popular as linux based scripts.
I agree with Ajay, IIS is not all that good, Its not that rich featured as it could have been, But win 08 might complete that empty space too.
But never worked on Linux administration, but heard of it very much.
I will add that you can easily get help/feed back for your Linux hosting issue with millions of support forums/blog, while you can’t find the same amount of resources for windows due the low popularity of windows hosting
